ପୁଞ୍ଜିଲାଲକୁ ଆଜୀବନ କାରାଗାର
After seven years, the verdict has finally been delivered in the much-discussed Patnagarh parcel bomb blast case. The prime accused, Punjilal Meher, has been found guilty by the Patnagarh ADJ-2 court. He has been sentenced to life imprisonment along with a fine of ₹50,000. On February 23, 2018, Punjilal caused havoc during the wedding of Soumya Sekhar, son of Ravindra, by sending a parcel as a gift that turned out to be a bomb. Seeking personal revenge, he sent the explosive device disguised as a wedding present. As the newlywed couple and family members opened the parcel, it exploded, resulting in the deaths of Soumya and his grandmother-in-law, while Soumya’s wife was critically injured. A special team was formed under the supervision of senior police officer Arun Bothra for investigation, following the order of the then government. After probing various leads, Punjilal Meher was arrested.
ବହୁଚର୍ଚ୍ଚିତ ପାଟଣାଗଡ଼ ପାର୍ସଲ ବୋମା ବିସ୍ଫୋରଣ ମାମଲାର ୭ ବର୍ଷ ପରେ ଆସିଲା ରାୟ । ମୁଖ୍ୟ ଅଭିଯୁକ୍ତ ପୁଞ୍ଜିଲାଲ ମେହେରଙ୍କୁ ଦୋଷୀ ସାବ୍ୟସ୍ତ କଲେ ପାଟଣାଗଡ଼ ଏଡିଜେ-୨ ଅଦାଲତ। ପୁଞ୍ଜିଲାଲକୁ ଆଜୀବନ କାରାଦଣ୍ଡ ସହ ୫୦ ହଜାର ଟଙ୍କା ଜରିମାନା ପାଇଁ ଦିଆଯାଇଛି ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶ ।୨୦୧୮ ଫେବ୍ରୁଆରି ୨୩ ତାରିଖରେ ରବୀନ୍ଦଙ୍କ ପୁଅ ସୌମ୍ୟ ଶେଖରଙ୍କ ବିବାହରେ ମୃତ୍ୟୁର ତାଣ୍ଡବ ଘଟାଇଥିଲା ପୁଞ୍ଜିଲାଲ । ବ୍ୟକ୍ତିଗତ ଶତ୍ରୁତାର ପ୍ରତିଶୋଧ ନେବାକୁ ସୌମ୍ୟଙ୍କ ବିବାହ ଭେଟିରେ ପଠାଇଥିଲା ପାର୍ସଲ ଉପହାର, ଯେଉଁଥିରେ ଥିଲା ବିସ୍ଫୋରକ । ଦୁଇ ନବ ବିବାହିତ ଦମ୍ପତିଙ୍କ ସହ ପରିବାର ଲୋକେ ଉପହାର ଖୋଲି ଦେଖୁଥିବାବେଳେ ହୋଇଥିଲା ଏହି ପାର୍ସଲ ବୋମା ବିସ୍ଫୋରଣ, ଯେଉଁଥିରେ ସୌମ୍ୟ ଓ ତାଙ୍କ ଜେଜେମା’ଙ୍କର ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ହୋଇଥିବାବେଳେ ଗୁରୁତର ଆହତ ହୋଇଥିଲେ ସୌମ୍ୟଙ୍କ ପତ୍ନୀ । । ମାମଲାର ତଦନ୍ତ ପାଇଁ ବରିଷ୍ଠ ପୋଲିସ ଅଧିକାରୀ ଅରୁଣ ବୋଥ୍ରାଙ୍କ ତତ୍ୱାବଧାନରେ ଏକ ଦଳ ଗଠନ କରିଥିଲେ ତତ୍କାଳୀନ ସରକାର । ବିଭିନ୍ନ ଦିଗକୁ ତଦନ୍ତ କରି ପୁଞ୍ଜିଲାଲ ମେହେରଙ୍କୁ ଗିରଫ କରିଥିଲା ଦଳ ।
