In Puri district's Nimapada Balanga area, a +2 girl student from Baia village was set on fire by miscreants. According to reports, while the minor girl was on her way to a friend's house on a bicycle, three youths intercepted her on the road, poured petrol on her, and set her ablaze. The victim, in critical condition, has been shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar. Balanga police are currently investigating the scene of the incident. While the recent death of an FM college girl in Balasore has already sparked outrage across the state, this fresh incident in Nimapada has raised serious concerns about women's safety. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida has expressed strong discontent over the incident and has instructed the police to immediately arrest the culprits.
