Relief from the heat is expected. The monsoon may arrive early this year. It is likely to enter Kerala by the end of May. The ‘European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts’ has estimated that the monsoon could reach Kerala between May 18 and 25. According to this model, there may be 30 to 60 mm more rainfall than usual. Similarly, in the third week of May, the monsoon is expected to touch the southwest coastal regions of India. Due to the influence of strong westerly winds, a large amount of moist air from the southeast Arabian Sea will move towards Kerala and southern regions. This monsoon is expected to particularly affect the Tamil Nadu region. However, the India Meteorological Department has not yet issued any official statement regarding this.
