After the International Cricket Council (ICC) took a firm stand, Pakistan—who had threatened to boycott matches against India—has returned to the discussion table. During these talks, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has placed three surprising conditions before the ICC. These include demands for increased funding, the resumption of bilateral cricket, and the implementation of a “handshake protocol.” These demands have surprised everyone. Pakistan’s demand regarding the “handshake protocol” is linked to a major reason related to the 2025 Asia Cup. During that tournament, Indian players did not shake hands with Pakistani players in all three matches played between the two teams.
